Permanent Clinical Director – Surbiton

This is an opportunity to take on a Clinical Director role across two established Small Animal Practice sites in Surbiton and Epsom. - 1 in 4 Saturdays.
- 1.5 days protected leadership/admin time each week.
- Working across two established sites.

Why You'll Love This Role

This role offers the rare combination of hands-on Veterinary Surgeon work and protected leadership time. You will have the opportunity to shape the future of two established practices while benefiting from the support and wider network of the Kin Vet Community.

About the Role

You will provide clinical leadership across both sites while remaining clinically involved through consultations, diagnostics, case work-ups, treatment planning and surgery. The role is designed to give you time to focus properly on leadership rather than fitting it around a full consulting diary.

You will support and develop the Veterinary Surgeons and wider clinical teams, maintain clinical standards and help build strong relationships between the two practices. The position also includes involvement in recruitment, onboarding, retention and clinical governance.

The role would suit an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys mentoring others and contributing to the wider success of the practices. Previous formal management experience would be advantageous, but a supportive and collaborative approach is equally important.

About the Practice

The two practices are established first-opinion Small Animal Practice sites with a strong family-practice feel and a focus on continuity of care, long-term client relationships and high clinical standards. Aspen Veterinary Surgery in Tolworth is a long-standing practice with facilities including extensive in-house laboratory facilities, digital X-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring, hospitalisation facilities, a surgical theatre and modern dentistry facilities.

The sister practice in Epsom also offers an extensive in-house laboratory and diagnostic equipment including ultrasound, digital X-ray and multiparameter monitoring. Both practices manage varied first-opinion caseloads and have relationships with local Referral Hospital colleagues for cases requiring specialist input.

Working in Surbiton

Surbiton offers a practical base for Veterinary Surgeons who want to work in South West London while remaining close to wider Surrey. The area is well placed for commuting and provides access to both urban amenities and nearby residential communities, making it suitable for candidates who want a balance between clinical work and day-to-day convenience.

Benefits
- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
- Private medical insurance.
- Generous CPD allowance.
- Support towards further qualifications and certificates.
- Structured professional development.
- Leadership and career progression opportunities.
- Support from the wider Kin Vet Community.
